At the Management Planning department, you need to constantly inform the management about market situations in Korea and abroad as well as the company’s current state of affairs. This requires extensive insights into management-related disciplines that help you comprehend and analyze the company’s management status and the ability to collect data to back up your analysis. You also need the ability to plan and persuade the entire executives by presenting them with the future direction you plan on heading based on your understanding and analysis.
Basic comprehension on accounting, taxation, and laws

For you to run the organizational system in Korea and abroad and to consult others about the operation of the organization, you must have the basic knowledge on organizational management, finance, accounting, taxation, and laws. It will also be very helpful to know about corporate finance including corporate valuation, which is necessary in the investment decision-making stage.
Communication skills and a customer service mindset

You need the ability to communicate with and respond to all members of the organization with sincerity. You also need a service mindset that enables you to accept various views of employees and communicate with them with warm heart and respect. Stable and economic transport of bulk raw materials gives manufacturing (steel industry) a competitive advantage.

The group transports iron ore, coal, limestone, and nickel ore, the primary raw materials used to produce steel and ferronickel in steel mills and electric furnaces, respectively, from home and abroad. Iron ore, coal, and nickel ore are imported 100%, mostly from Australia, Brazil, Canada, Russia, China, the US, and New Caledonia. The group signs various contracts, from long-term CVC contracts to COA and spot charter contracts, on transportation of bulk raw materials for POSCO subsidiaries that amount to over 84 million tons a year. We are increasing the profitability of shippers by delivering raw materials on time at competitive prices based on our expertise, from market analysis and the ability to operate diverse dry bulk carriers, ranging from small carriers to 300,000 ton carriers, to vast understanding on the purpose of given cargo.

Industrial logistics refers to vast logistics services for steel and other products from various ship owners, in addition to export products from POSCO. We provide export and import services for bulk cargo from POSCO International, POSCO STEELEON, and POSCO Mobility Solution, among POSCO subsidiaries, and transport them among three countries. In addition, we offer container and air transport services for other ship owners outside POSCO. We meet the principles of economy, speed, and safety for all general, bulk, and container items. On top of steel products, we also handle a wide array of product groups including chemical products, auto parts, and grain. Moreover, we offer the optimum means of transportation per item, including special-purpose containers for frozen, refrigerated food, chemicals, and machinery. We are striving to deliver greater value by offering logistics services, including timely shipping, reduction in logistics costs, and supporting customers to maintain business stability.
Delivering bulk transport services based on our vast global network

We offer transport services for all bulk cargo, such as steel, grains, iron ore, and raw materials from big customers in Korea and abroad.
We handle all types of carriers, ranging from consolidated shipment of small cargo to large carriers carrying a single item, providing the optimum means of transportation by item and volume.

Furthermore, we provide an air cargo service that is becoming more important from the perspective of rapid formation of distribution networks and global acceleration in specialization. Ability to systematize complex logistics services

We offer comprehensive logistics services for diverse types of cargo, from ground transportation in Korea to container freight station (CFS) work, customs clearance and declaration, sea transportation, unloading of cargo at the port of arrival, to land transportation overseas. We are also providing a project cargo service, which calls for the ability to materialize complicated logistics services systematically.
Ability to obtain diverse data to analyze market conditions

The department requires the ability to predict the state of affairs in the marine transport market through regular brainstorming. To that end, we are holding meetings with logistics partners intended to enhance practical skills through periodic exchange with bulk shipping and container shippers and to operate special-purpose containers (e.g. dedicated to coils). We are also holding weekly meetings aimed at analyzing special reports from the Korea Ocean Business Corporation (KOBC) and circular materials from the London P&I Club. In addition, we are also keen on listening to the voice of the customers by offering logistics training on sales agents of major ship owners. By the same token, we are focused on gathering information from diverse perspectives.

We are delivering an end-to-end logistics service that transports large volumes of coal and raw materials used by power generation companies and cement manufacturers in Korea and abroad from the place of origin overseas via large carriers. They are then unloaded, stored, and processed in Gwangyang and Pohang central terminal system (CTS) bases. Afterwards, they are delivered to plants run by customers at a time they need them via coastal shipping, truck delivery, and railroad transportation.

We are striving to deliver greater value by offering logistics services, including timely shipping, reduction in logistics costs, and supporting customers to maintain business stability.

Taking into account profitability, social responsibility, and the environment in a balanced manner, we are offering effective integrated logistics services using CTS, while expanding service areas across the world.

The CTS bases are run with the latest cargo facilities, large-scale yards and warehouse infrastructure in Gwangyang and Pohang ports backed by great nature adequate to run ports. Based on our technical know-how accumulated over many years, we offer one-stop service that includes cargo work, storage, processing, and just-in-time (JIT) delivery, to support customers to run their business stably.
